Information Systems Audit and Control Association
(ISACA)
is a professional association of individuals interested in information systems audit,
control and security. Founded in 1969, Association membership has grown to more than
17,000 members from 101 countries, belonging to more than 150 local chapters worldwide. |

The membership
includes a wide range of IS audit and control professionals working for all types of
business as well as local and national governments. These professionals hold a variety of
positions including: CEO, CIO, IS Director, IS Manager, IS Audit professionals, and IS
Security professionals, just to name a few. We are diverse group of professionals
with the objective to promote the education, expand the knowledge and skills of its
members. |
| The Association's
Standards program has established 8 Standards
and nine Statements on IS auditing, which expand on the guidelines within the General
Standards. The Standards Board is addressing specific areas of technology for IS auditing
and control practitioners. |

The San Francisco
Chapter was founded in 1975 and is made up of approximately 350 members. The Chapter
provides a forum to facilitate the free exchange of information regarding systems control
and security. We also provide our members with access to audit and security
resources and offer educational meetings and seminars to keep our membership informed of
the latest advances in technology and audit and security techniques. |
