Chapter Advisory Board

  

Terms & Requirements
(Adopted by the Board of Directors--February 10, 1999)

         
General Terms
  1. The Advisory Board is an ongoing committee of the Board of Directors.
  2. Advisory Board members are appointed by the Chapter President or nominated by a member of the Chapter’s Board of Directors subject to a majority vote of the Board of Directors.
  3. Advisory Board members serve a life-term until such time as they resign from the Advisory Board (via written request to the Board President). However, membership on the Advisory Board will terminate if membership and member requirements are not meet (see below).
  4. The Board of Directors may remove an Advisory Board member if deemed necessary; requires a majority vote of the Board.
  5. The current Chapter President Chairs the Advisory Board and is the only member of the Advisory Board with voting rights on the Chapter Board.
  6. Advisory Board members do not have voting rights over Chapter business.
  7. The Advisory Board is essentially a pool of expertise and resources available to the Chapter Board of Directors.

Advisory Board Membership Requirements

  1. By default, all past Chapter Presidents no longer serving on the Chapter Board are automatically invited to join the Advisory Board.
  2. All past Chapter Board members may serve on the Advisory Board. Those members must be nominated and elected to the Advisory Board by a majority vote of the Chapter Board of Directors.
  3. Chapter members in active status may be nominated and elected to the Advisory Board by a majority vote of the Chapter Board of Directors.
  4. All Advisory Board members must be members of the ISACA—San Francisco Chapter in active status.

Advisory Board Member Requirements:

  1. Completion of one annual survey that will be used by the Chapter Board of Directors in planning Chapter activities and events.
  2. Support the mission of ISACA and the Chapter.
  3. Act as an informed spokesperson of the Chapter’s mission and services.

Optional Responsibilities of the Advisory Board Members:

  1. Attend the Chapter’s Annual Meeting.
  2. Be available to the Board of Directors for consultation in an area of expertise.

Other Terms / Requirements Adopted:

  1. All Advisory Board members will be listed in the Chapter’s publications.   Furthermore, Advisory Board members will be recognized at the Chapter’s Annual Meeting.
  2. The Chapter President, with the assistance of the full Chapter Board, will be responsible for updating and maintaining the survey presented to the Advisory Board Members annually for completion.
